In short. The App has no accounts and no servers of ours: your learning progress, settings and backups stay on your device, and we never receive them. The only thing that leaves the device is anonymised usage statistics and crash reports, processed by the AppMetrica analytics service (operated by Yandex). We do not collect your name, e-mail, location or advertising identifiers, and we sell nothing. Collection cannot be switched off inside the App — see section 3.

1. Who we are

The Sayble app (the “App”, “we”) is operated by heavyapp. The App is published on Google Play under the identifier com.sayble.heavyapp. For any privacy question you can write to us at heavylabs.dev@gmail.com.

2. What data is processed

Everything you learn is created and kept by the App on your device. We have no access to that data. It includes:

your learning progress: words you have studied, the review schedule, streaks, statistics;
app settings: interface language, session size, reminder time, colour theme;
a local event log (which screens and actions occurred) — needed to keep the App working correctly. An anonymised copy of these events is sent to the analytics service: what exactly, and why, is in section 3.

The App does not ask for your name, e-mail, phone number, payment details, location, contacts, the list of installed apps or advertising identifiers. There is no sign-up and no sign-in. The device advertising identifier (AD_ID) has been removed from the build — the App cannot read it, not even through the libraries bundled inside it.

3. Analytics: what leaves the device

The App has no servers of its own and no user accounts. The only reason it goes online is anonymised usage statistics and crash reports. These are processed by a third-party analytics service, AppMetrica (operated by Yandex): appmetrica.yandex.com, the operator's privacy policy is at yandex.com/legal/confidential. The App goes nowhere else: the dictionary is bundled into it, and words are pronounced by your device's built-in speech synthesiser.

Why this is needed. To see at which step of a session learners give up, and to learn about crashes — which we would otherwise hear about only from a Google Play review.

What is sent:

events inside the App — which screen was opened, which action was taken, how a session ended; the event name is sent, and for some events a single whole number (for example, how many words a session contained);
sessions: when the App was launched and how long it ran;
the technical environment: device model, operating system version, App version, interface language, screen resolution;
reports about crashes and unhandled errors, with a technical description of where in the code the failure happened;
an internal installation identifier that the analytics service creates by itself in order to tell one installation from another. It is not linked to your name, to an account or to an advertising identifier.

What is not sent:

your learning progress: words you have studied, the review schedule, streaks, statistics;
your App settings and your backup files;
any text you type into the App;
your location — location tracking is explicitly disabled in the App on both platforms;
the device advertising identifier — it has been removed from the build;
your name, e-mail, phone number, contacts and the list of installed apps — the App never asks for them.

Can you opt out. The honest answer: not from inside the App. There is no switch for it, and collection starts on the first launch. The only way to stop it completely is to uninstall the App (or not to install it). To request deletion of the data already collected from your installation, write to heavylabs.dev@gmail.com — see section 5.

4. Data security

Usage statistics and crash reports are transmitted over a secure connection (HTTPS) — they never travel across the network in the clear. On the device, the App's data is stored in the app's private sandbox, which the Android operating system keeps closed to other apps. Protecting the device itself from other people (passcode, biometrics) remains on your side.

5. Data retention and deletion

Your learning progress, settings and the local event log stay on your device for exactly as long as the App is installed. You can erase them completely at any time:

“Settings → Reset progress” inside the App — erases learning progress, settings and the local event log;
uninstalling the App — removes its entire local database from the device.

Anonymised usage statistics and crash reports are stored on the side of the analytics service (AppMetrica) under its operator's rules; we keep no user database of our own. To request deletion of the data from your installation, write to us at heavylabs.dev@gmail.com and we will pass the request on to the service operator. Uninstalling the App stops any further collection, but does not by itself erase what was sent earlier.

Backup files that you created and saved yourself remain under your control — you can delete them wherever you put them.

6. Backups

You can manually export a backup of your progress as a file and restore it later. This operation is entirely initiated by you: the file is created on your command, and where it goes (notes, a messenger, cloud storage) is also your decision, made through the system “Share” menu. We neither receive nor store these files.

7. Device permissions

The App requests a minimum of permissions:

Notifications — to remind you about lessons and reviews. All notifications are composed locally; there is no push server. The permission can be turned off in settings.
Start after reboot — to restore the scheduled local reminders after the device restarts.
Vibration — haptic feedback in the interface (can be turned off in settings).
Internet access (and checking whether a connection exists) — needed only to send anonymised statistics and crash reports (section 3), and for nothing else: the dictionary is bundled into the App and pronunciation comes from the device's speech engine. This permission is granted at install time: you are not asked for it separately, and it cannot be revoked in the Android settings.

8. Data sharing and third-party services

We do not sell your data and do not share it for advertising; the App contains no ad networks and shows no ads. The one third-party service that receives data from your device is the AppMetrica analytics service (operated by Yandex); what exactly is sent to it, and what is not, is listed in section 3. A few system-level capabilities are provided by the platform rather than by us, and they do not pass your data to us:

the system “Share” menu — when you decide to send a backup or a word card yourself;
the invitation to rate the app — the standard Google Play rating dialog, shown by the store.

Data processing by the app store (Google Play) is covered by that platform's own privacy policy.

9. Children

The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not ask for age, name, e-mail or any other detail that could identify a person, and we collect no advertising identifiers — from anyone, children included. The only thing that leaves the device is anonymised usage statistics and crash reports (section 3); we build no profiles and no advertising targeting on top of them. If you believe that a child has passed any personal details to us, write to us and we will help delete them.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App evolves. The current version is always available at sayble.tech/privacy, and the date of the last change is shown at the top of the page. We will do our best to reflect material changes in the app description.
